In January 2026, Roesch Library had more than 1.7 million print and electronic books, subscribed to more than 400 databases, and provided access to 100,000 print and electronic journals, as well as 60,000 streaming videos. Through OhioLINK—a statewide consortium of college and university libraries—students, faculty, and staff can access approximately 44 million additional items at member institutions, delivered on demand within a few days. A Federal Depository Library since 1969, Roesch Library also provides access to government records in physical and electronic forms.

With limited exception, Roesch Library is open every day during regular weeks of the term and 24 hours the week prior to and during final exams. Library assistance is available in a variety of forms.

Computers and wall-mounted monitors are available, as are multifunction printers that can print, scan, and copy in grayscale and color; printing is available to people with a UD login. Cameras, phone chargers, and various other types of media equipment are available to borrow with a UD ID. Open study areas are available throughout the building with noise levels that vary by floor—noisy, conversational, considerate, and silent. The library also has study rooms, huddle rooms, and team rooms.

The Libraries, in collaboration with campus partners, also provide all University of Dayton students, faculty, and staff with access to online subscriptions to The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal free of charge (please check for current availability). An open-access institutional repository, eCommons, provides a permanent and discoverable electronic archive of University scholarship, culture, and documents.
