BIZ 101. Launching Your Business Career: Foundations for Student Success. 1 Hour

This foundational course introduces first-year business students to the resources and tools needed to thrive in the School of Business Administration and at the University of Dayton, setting the stage for the remainder of the Career Flight Plan, which continues with BIZ 103, BIZ 202, and BIZ 301. Course is offered in Fall semesters. Course is for business majors.

BIZ 103. Develop Your Vocation and Career Flight Plan. 1 Hour

This course is designed to assist first-year students in developing their career and vocational flight plans by developing self-awareness, discovering their career options, and understanding how to deliver their brand. The course is offered in Spring semesters and is for undergraduate business majors.

BIZ 200. Business Cases and Communications for Non-Business Majors. 3 Hours

This course satisfies the BIZ 201 requirement for students internally transferring into the School of Business Administration. This dynamic course immerses first-year business students in real-world case studies, exploring key business functions while honing essential communication skills like persuasive presentations, impactful writing, and effective meeting leadership.

BIZ 201. Business Cases and Communications. 3 Hours

BIZ 202. Career Flight Takeoff. 1 Hour

School of Business Administration students will learn resume, interviewing, and networking skills that enable their career goals to take flight. Course is offered in Fall semesters for undergraduate business majors.

BIZ 294. Special Topics in the School of Business Administration. 1-6 Hours

Special Topics in the School of Business Administration. Subject varies from time to time. May be taken more than once if the topic changes.

BIZ 301. Successfully Navigating Your Career Flight Plan. 1 Hour

School of Business Administration students will gain skills and knowledge to navigate topics that impact post-graduation success including evaluating job offers, financial literacy for young professionals, and workplace expectations. Course is offered in Spring semesters and restricted to undergraduate business majors with junior or senior level standing.

BIZ 497. Professional Work Experience. 0-6 Hours

Supervised business work experience in association with a participating organization. May not be used for major or business core requirements. Pass/Fail grading only.
