Center for International Programs

Guided by our Marianist values, the Center for International Programs (CIP) provides leadership, strategic direction, coordination, and support for the internationalization of campus. In collaboration with other University departments and global partners and communities,  the CIP offers innovative programs and services to enhance intercultural education, support student success, and promote diversity, equity and inclusion.  Under the Office of the Provost, our areas include Campus Engagement, Education Abroad, Intensive English Program, International Student & Scholar Services, English Language Institute, and Global Partnerships.

Campus Engagement

Campus Engagement directs and supports initiatives that foster intercultural engagement and development for faculty, staff and students.  These programs and trainings provide opportunities for cross-cultural exchange, relationship development, reflection and dialogue to encourage deeper awareness, knowledge, and intercultural skills, which support institutional goals for diversity, equity and inclusion.

Education Abroad

Education Abroad provides strategic direction for innovative and inclusive international, domestic and global and intercultural learning opportunities. With attention to high quality programs, intercultural and personal development, and student success, we engage the campus community in an effort to develop empowered global citizens. Through collaboration with campus, local communities, and global partners, we offer advising, faculty-led program design and coordination, exchange opportunities, and integrated travel and risk management oversight.

International Student and Scholar Services

International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) fosters academic, professional, and intercultural development through excellence in immigration advising, advocacy for support and inclusion, cross-cultural programming, and a focus on student success.

Intensive English Program

The Intensive English Program at the University of Dayton welcomes a diverse community of English language learners to prepare them for success in their academic and professional careers by providing English language instruction rooted in best practices. The IEP’s diverse team of TESOL professionals guide students toward autonomy as they learn, explore, and practice the skills and habits necessary for success in U.S. universities and the global community. Together with the broader University, the IEP creates and facilitates opportunities for intercultural exchange, experiential learning, and academic preparedness while linking learning and scholarship to leadership and service.

Global Partnerships

In support of our mission and campus partners, Global Partnerships seeks, builds and maintains reciprocal relationships with institutions and organizations locally and abroad.

University of Dayton English Language Institute (UDEL)

The University of Dayton English Language Institute, through English language teaching and learning and our Marianist partnership with University of Dayton Publishing/SM (UDP), supports schools, develops teachers, and expands opportunities for UD students in Latin America.
