Bachelor of Science in Education (BSE), Education & Allied Studies

This SEHS interdisciplinary major allows students to complete a curriculum that is more appropriate for their desired vocation. The degree received will be a Bachelor of Science in Education with the major Education and Allied Studies. Interested students should contact the SEHS Dean's Office. 

The Common Academic Program (CAP) is an innovative curriculum that is the foundation of a University of Dayton education. It is a learning experience that is shared in common among all undergraduate students, regardless of their major. Some CAP requirements must be fulfilled by courses taken at UD. Some major requirements must also be fulfilled by courses taken at UD. Students should consult with their advisor regarding applicability of transfer credit to fulfill CAP and major program requirements.

* Advisor Approved Courses include 300/400 CAP courses

* A student must complete a minimum of 30 semester hours of courses in one or both of the SEHS departments (EDT or HSS), or comparable hours approved by the SEHS Dean's Office

* A student must complete a minimum of 30 semester hours of courses at the 300 or 400 level with an overall grade point average of 2.0 or better

* A student must complete a minimum of 54 semester hours of courses at a 4-year college or university
